We’re Hiring - Project Manager

We’re hiring: Dartmoor Declares Energy Independence Project Manager

Dartmoor Futures is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Project Manager to help lead Dartmoor Declares Energy Independence — an ambitious pilot programme focused on local energy resilience, community-led climate action and practical low-carbon infrastructure across Dartmoor.

This project will support small-scale solar PV and battery storage installations across 6–8 farm and community sites. Alongside the practical delivery, it will bring together landowners, communities, energy specialists, local authorities and network stakeholders to explore a longer-term approach to more resilient, locally beneficial energy systems on Dartmoor.

We’re looking for someone who can hold both the practical and the strategic:
Someone who can manage project plans, budgets, site relationships and delivery timelines.

Someone who understands capital infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
Someone who can build trust, convene partners and help translate learning from a pilot into future opportunities for Dartmoor.

The role is part-time and self-employed, initially for 12 months.
Fee: £14,000–£21,000, based on approximately 75–100 days per year
Location: Dartmoor, with hybrid working
Anticipated start date: Around 1 September 2026
Closing date: 28 August 2026

Dartmoor Futures is a charity which convenes, tests and grows ideas that support a thriving, regenerative and resilient Dartmoor. Through this project, we want to explore how locally appropriate, community-connected energy solutions can improve resilience, generate wider benefits and provide learning for Dartmoor’s future.
